2005 - The self-titled EP was recorded by gravitate, as well as some more gigs at venues throughout Melbourne. Unfortunately, Dan had to venture into hospital to have some work done on his hip. As a result, the band was out of action for 4-5 months. But this has fed a new hunger to succeed, which will take shape when the guys get back on the road mid-late 2005...
2004 - In early 2004, there were discussions held with the gravitate boys on how to fatten their sound. Thinking back to the 1998 jam sessions with good mate Jarrod, Simon mentioned that his presence could bring that extra 'something' to the band. The second half of 2004 was largely spent re-working the current songs, and getting back into the swing of rocking.
2003 - With many more gigs, gravitate begin getting a bit of a following, stemming primarily from family and friends, friends of friends, and drunks in pubs. As a result, they earn a support with the Androids in one of their Melbourne shows. Meanwhile, Jarrod and Dan begin playing in a mellow outfit known as LowerCase J.
2002 - It was back to a three piece with no direction. Fortunately, Simon had been writing songs along the way, and gravitate began. The boys spent a year finding themselves and their musical niche. In late 2002, they entered a band competition and did surprisingly well.
2001 - With Millsy leaving to pursue a non-related career, Simon took on lead vocals, and guitarists Newcombe and Ginny joined the show. One more birthday show, which included one original called The Rain, and the band disbanded. It was noted that The Rain was well received by all who witnessed the show.
2000 - With plans to make it big as a cover band, the set list was increased and the boys formed "access denied", with Rob Mills on lead vocals. The band played two gigs… at Dan's sisters birthday, and another gig at a party where the cops were knocking on the door within 10 minutes.
1999 - Due to complaints from surrounding neighbours, the council request that the bands finds an alternative venue for jamming. A factory becomes the practice grounds for the band for the next few years. The audience for the band remains the family and close friends of the guys.
1998 - Dan throws a party at his joint. Simon and his mate bring the guitars, and Paul and his mate bring the drums and bass. Together, they convinced Dan to buy a bass and make a garage band. They play smashing pumpkins, grinspoon and weezer covers in the garage as a four piece. The other guitarist ends up joining the army and four become three. Meanwhile, Simon and Jarrod become mates at uni.
